We found a picture of my grandmother, Concetta, as a kid standing next to her stepmother, Louise. We don’t really know all the details. We only know that she came here as a young girl, and was pretty much still in the European style. She was taken in by the cousins who were already growing up here in the USA, and made over to be more like them. Well, that was probably a good thing.
When she was older, she reverted to European style with the black stockings and the long dresses. Then, as she got even older, she became quite modern and hip to everything.
We miss her.
She is certainly beautiful even here, and I worked really hard to bring back the features, even though they are almost totally destroyed by time and abuse.
